Julie Kwong | Physical Therapist
After graduating with my Masters in PT from CSU Long Beach in 2012, I relocated to the Sacramento community where I met and fell in love with my husband. After marrying and going through unexplained infertility, I decided to dedicate the rest of my career to female pelvic health. The journey of discovery and healing has ignited an ongoing quest which has me traveling all over the country taking coursework to specialize in this area ever since.
My passion is helping to empower women to prepare for birth, heal carefully after birth, and restore any pain or dysfunction that might pop up throughout her life. I combine both standard PT techqniues/exercises and osteopathic visceral mobilization techniques to treat women with pelvic organ prolapse, constipation, painful intercourse, incontinence, pelvic pain, low back pain, diastasis rectii (DRA), urinary urgency, resolve scar tissue after C-sections or other surgeries including perineal scar tissue after an episiotomy or tear and beyond.
Educating every lady that comes to through my door is a large part of my practice, and preventing common mistakes in the post partum period to prevent prolapse is a huge passion of mine. I believe that pelvic health is as important as any other aspect of your body, and hope that someday women will consider an annual visit with her pelvic PT part of her self care maintenance so we can catch anything before it becomes a larger problem.
