Sacramento Childbirth Choices: Best Start Breastfeeding Class with Kellie Edson

I am an International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA) certified childbirth educator and Lactation Consultant Assistant (LCA).  Breastfeeding is the most natural thing, but that doesn't always mean that it is the easiest. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that we exclusively breastfeed our babies for the first six months of their lives, and then continue to breastfeed until at least 2 years old and beyond.  Whatever your breastfeeding goals, knowledge is power, and how breastfeeding is approached immediately postpartum and in the early weeks of infancy lay the foundation for a strong breastfeeding relationship going forward.  In this short class you will learn:

  • How Breast Milk Production works
  • Tips to get breastfeeding off to a great start
  • Typical breastfeeding 'holds' (with in class practice)
  • Feeding & Fullness Cues
  • Latch Basics
  • Potential Early Breastfeeding Challenges
  • Milk Expression & Storage
  • Risks of Formula

Class will be held in my home in the Arden area of Sacramento (address emailed after registration). To learn more and register for this semi-private class, please go to
